New Development Progress Update

Build Update

Upon careful review a new feasible date for the build completion looks like mid Summer.  The exact date is to be determined although it is still subject to the below points and progress with partners.

The build will benefit from a number of solution changes in the project, notably these will be of significant benefit in relation to the end product and financial delivery of the project. It had been hoped that the changes could be accelerated to hit the original timelines but this was not feasible due to the complexity of the changes.

  1. Final planning for the move of the main entrance from the existing location to a new location just below Bells house. This will be a better option and safer approach for all members as it was agreed that the original entrance had safety and efficiency considerations and these required optimising. These changes will also deliver a far superior Financial Outcome for the Club.
  2. Sewage final agreement on a more cost beneficial approach for the treatment of sewage from the development.
  3. Enhancements to final project outcome – Through the process we are working through options with Fingal particularly to deliver a better end product and discussions are ongoing.
  4. Function room (Bar) design & solution review with industry experts to drive value

Progress to date and pending Areas

  • Pitch readiness - Goal posts & Floodlights, this will be completed prior to opening
  • External finishes roads, footpaths and landscaping which is tied to Main Gate move & Sewage solution (Points 1 & 2)
  • Maintenance and Equipment sheds – pending but will be completed as part of the final project
  • Sports hall finish - pending but will be completed as part of the final project
  • Internals downstairs almost complete with second & third fittings in place
  • Upstairs pending final Solution design ( Point 4 )
  • Floodlights for Pitch 1 pending decision from Sports Capital process

These changes and enhancements that are being delivered will provide greater value to the club and give us all a much better end product that will be available to the Club for decades to come.

The club executive & development committees appreciate that this is not the update that members wanted to hear, however there is no doubt we will finish in a better place with all these enhancements, so please be assured they are worth waiting for.
